【马六甲】Weekend trip to Melaka City

This is my short trip to Melaka with buddies (Mr. & Mrs. Wong) during the weekend & will fetch hubby in the way back. We had travel on 7th June 2014 for the period of 2 days and 2 nights. I had been Melaka many times but this is the first time overnight here.

DAY 1 - 07/06/2014

We depart from home at 1pm, then heading to Semenyih to have lunch. I'm not familiar with Kampung Baru Semnyih. So, Mr. & Mrs. Wong decide for where to lunch. We stop at a shop which famous with it chicken rice, which is so special by can add 'yong tao fu' with the chiocken and their sauce not same with normal chicken rice sauce I had before. After this satisfying lunch we continue our trip to Melaka.

Out of our expectation the traffic is worst when we on highway.  We think is because 7th June is public holiday (Yang-Dipertuan Agong Birthday). The clock turn 4.30pm when we arrive our guesthouse-RED GUESTHOUSE. I had inform the guesthouse that we will be late due to heavy traffic to Melaka.

I had go through some online booking websites for hotel reservation, then decide to choose Red Guesthouse the day before depart because there is less choices of hotel left on that day and the hotel only cost us RM 110.50 per night stay. It superb cheap price for 4 people room.

Falling in love with the room wall decorate.

Since this is a free & relax trip, we decide to rest in room first and go out to Jonker Street later for dinner.

Jonker Street is a must visit place in Melaka. During night here full with tourist and local as there are more stalls and have variety of local street food.

Seen most people hold egg alike shape ice-cream. This is one of famous street food at Jonker Walk, hence we also have a try.

Day 2 - 07/06/2013

On the day 2, we decided to have chicken rice ball for brunch at Restoran Famosa which located in middle of Jonker Walk. It been extremely hot walking at Jonker walk in daytime. So, having a fruit tea drink is a good idea while scoring around the street.

Another famous food in Jonker Street is durian puff, there are many durian cottage along the street. For me, not a durian lover definately will skip this. But i have 'curi' my friend durian crepe to try, the durian taste is really strong and authentic.

Then, we heading to Mahkota Parade Mall for Nadeje's Crepe cake. But the crowds scared us away, so we try out "Tong Pak Fu''.

Our next station, is the seafood stall located at back alley of Jalan Bunga Raya.

It's a new experience for me to having our food sitting on a small wooden chair and beside the drain. Never thought to enjoy our food under this kind of environment. But the food really yums!

After fetching hubby, we decided to give a try at Ban Lee Siang Satey Celup. This is a well-known satey celup restaurant in Melaka other than Capitol Satay Restaurant. We have our first time satay celup and it's a great try. It ingredients same like lok-lok which we can easily find in KL.

Melaka is a very enjoyable place with plenty of famous food and still have more to explore. Will definitely come back for more.

星期六之游泳日@ Bukit Mewah Club
